Apply Farmers for the Future (F4F) Grant: British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) 2024 

The Farmers for the Future (F4F) Grant is an agricultural entrepreneurship initiative designed to support young people with viable agri-businesses. This program offers equity-free capital and additional support to help scale their businesses. Developed and sponsored by the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and implemented by Fate Foundation, the grant aims to encourage and empower Nigerian youth in sustainable agriculture.

    Program Overview

-     Target Audience: Currently serving NYSC members with viable agri-business ideas.

-     Objective: To provide equity-free capital and associated business support to scale agricultural ventures.

    Curriculum Highlights

Participants will receive training in various essential business areas, including:

1.     Entrepreneurship Mindset      

2.     Design Thinking, Innovation, and Problem-Solving      

3.     Developing a Business Plan      

4.     Business Model Canvas      

5.     Product Development Strategy      

6.     Marketing and Digital Marketing Strategy      

7.     Managing Business Operations      

8.     Financial Literacy      

9.     Business Pitch Skills      

    Benefits

-     Equity-Free Grant: The top 6 finalists will receive a share of NGN 10 million:  

  - 1st Prize: NGN 3 million  

  - 2nd Prize: NGN 2 million  

  - 3rd Prize: NGN 1 million  

-     Training & Capacity Building:      

  - Participation in an intensive “Think-through-your-business” boot camp.  

  - Mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs and agriculture experts.  

  - Membership in the F4F alumni network.  

  - Access to other partner-driven training programs.  

  - Support with business registration and other legal and regulatory requirements.  

-     Scholarship Support: The program is free to all selected participants, courtesy of BATNF, covering direct course fees, course materials, data support, and post-program support.

    Selection Process

1.     Application Submission: Submit your application via the online portal.  

2.     Virtual Bootcamp: 20 selected businesses will participate in a rigorous virtual boot camp to refine their business ideas and build compelling pitches.  

3.     Pitch Event & Award: The top 10 businesses will pitch before a panel of expert judges and investors. Three winners will be selected for the grant.  

4.     Mentorship: Winners will receive financial support to execute, strengthen, and scale their businesses under the guidance of experienced mentors. They will also gain access to relevant networks to support their business growth.  

5.     Alumni Network: Join the F4F alumni network for ongoing mentorship, insider opportunities, and a support system that provides access to follow-on financing and new markets.
