2022/2023 Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships for Nigerians
For five years, Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) has funded at least five Scholarships for outstanding individuals from West Africa to pursue the Master of Public Policy (MPP). Upon graduation, AIG Scholars return to apply their learning experience as change agents in the civil service of their home countries.
The AIG Scholarship Programme is now fully targeted at the Nigeria Civil Service and is offering Scholarship opportunities to three outstanding civil servants to study the Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Blavatnik School of Government (BSG), University of Oxford.
The AIG Scholarships are fully funded, covering tuition, accommodation and living expenses. The Scholarships do not cover travel or visa expenses.

Only applicants selected for the second round of the AIG Scholarships selection process will be notified, and asked to provide further information.
An AIG Scholarship is confirmed when a successful candidate has been offered a place by the Blavatnik School of Government for the Master of Public Policy (MPP).
Scholarship recipients must be prepared to commit to return and continue work in the Nigeria Civil Service.
Requirements:
To be eligible for consideration for the award of an AIG Scholarship, you must:
Be a citizen of Nigeria
Must not be more than 50 years old by 30 September 2022
Have a first-class or second-class upper undergraduate degree (or equivalent international qualifications), as a minimum, in any discipline. For applicants with a degree from the USA, the minimum GPA sought is 3.7 out of 4.0
Have at least seven(7) years work experience (private and public sector combined)
Provide evidence of present employment in the Nigeria civil service (Recommendation Letter and References)
Please note that:
Academic distinction, leadership potential and departmental awards and achievements are key priorities for selection and candidates will be required to present evidence of skills and achievements indicated.
In the case of candidates with second-class upper qualifications, a Master’s, second degree or relevant professional qualification will be an advantage
