"He Promised To Marry The Lady But Took Her To A Ritualist Where She Was Killed And Buried" Police 

The Abuja Police Command has yesterday paraded 54 suspects who committed various offences across the country. Among them was a 54-year-old man identified as Christopher Akpan who allegedly killed his girlfriend after he promised to marry her. According to the Police Spokesman Frank Mba, the deceased identified as Josephine Cynthia was an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

When Akpan started dating her around December 2019, he promised to marry her. However, along the course of the relationship, he started demanding money from her and it was gathered that she gave him a huge amount of money to start a business.

Akpan invited her to his house and then lured her into a ritualist house where she was killed and buried in a shallow grave. He promised to give the native doctor (Afolabi) a sum of 5 million Naira out of the money he got after killing her.

However, Akpan denied killing Josephine, saying that he had planned to marry her between December 28 and 29.
